Biology
My mom's major in college was biology so she really is fascinated with the study of life. She told me something about the human genome. I wanted to know what it is and why it is so interesting. Some famous scientist I think discovered the human genome in like 2001. I just want to learn about diseases and their effects on the human being. People are telling me that biology is really interesting to learn. I also want to learn about stem cell research because it sounds like a huge sicentic discovery. I know it has something to do with a single cell multiplying to form a human baby.

As a suggestion toward your research on the human genome, you could first ask around as to what it is and see what people say or how they react when you ask them about it. Based on that, you can probably form an idea of whether it's good or bad (but then again the general public might not be very educated), so after that I'd recommend a quick Google search to see what you wind up with. As far as diseases go, you could examine the way a normal person lives, as compared to someone with a cold or the flu, and then compare them to someone who has some sort of terminal illness (just don't get too close!). Finally, Stem Cell research is a highly controversial topic (although, I'm not quite sure why), so this isn't something I'd recommend taking to the human public- again, a quick Google search should get you some information. Overall, most of the things you want to know aren't exactly something that can be carried out in this class, so I'd recommend checking out some research done by professionals - but maybe you could talk to Brandon for more information on the disease factor!
